  • Send a message through the VA health portal or ask for a low-dose chest CT lung screening

PACT Act – Burn Pit and Toxic Exposure Benefits

The PACT Act expanded health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances. It added more than 20 presumptive conditions, including respiratory cancers and lung diseases, meaning you may not have to prove the exposure caused your illness.

Ask About Toxic Exposure Screening

The VA now provides toxic exposure screenings for veterans who may have been exposed to burn pits or other hazards during service.

If you served in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other post-9/11 deployments, ask your provider about:

  • Burn pit exposure

  • Lung cancer screening

  • A yearly low-dose chest CT - it could save your life
